A fishing vessel is in trouble in position 59-36n 003-37w with a broken pipe which is pouring water into the engine room knocking out the auxiliary engine. Oscar Charlie and Kirkwall RNLI Lifeboat are proceeding. Nothing more known at this time.

The pipe has been tied off, the pumps appear to be working and coping and the vessel is making her way to north Orkney under her own power. Oscar Charlie and Kirkwall Lifeboat are still proceeding.

All safe and well. Vessel currently being escorted by the Kirkwall Lifeboat into Kirkwall. Coastguard helicopter Rescue Oscar Charlie back at Sumburgh after standing by with pumps until the lifeboat got on scene. (Thumb)

She is now safely tied up alongside in Kirkwall in Orkney. Could have been nasty! (Thumb)
