Did my 6 months as a junior R/O on Sir Andrew Duncan in 1967. Capt. Macdonald was the master. Many happy returns!

My own congratulations to Capt Angus on this his 100th birthday, I hope to see him over the next couple of days. Today is a family day and as far as I know they are taking him out to a function in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast. It seems amazing but Captain Angus predates the Titanic by one month . I hope anybody who sailed with him will post messages as I know his grandson James is a member of SN. and I will let him know of this site. Anybody interested if you can go to Facebook - James Macdonald you will see a great photo of Capt Angus with his 3 great grand children, taken this morning.

Think he must be about the only MacDonald Master I didn't sail with.

All the more reason for wishing him a very happy birthday today with many
more to come.

Like John, I never had the opportunity to sail with Captain MacDonald and judging by previous comments, that was my misfortune.
Congratulations and a very happy birthday Sir, I hope you have a memorable day with your family.

Anyone interested, if you google Belfast telegraph and go to their main site, then internal search Captain Angus Macdonald and you should get photo and write up from last nights Tele. He sure doesn't look 100 must be the buttermilk.

It is with the greatest of sadness that I have just heard that Captain Angus crossed the bar last night.

Happy and well at 100 a few days ago. Perhaps one of those rare occasions when a passing can be a celebration of a life well led.
