Roy,
I wioll fill you in on Broompark of 1961, I joinedin Immingham 28th March '61 and left 5th June 1962 in Sakrijima Japan the Master on joining was I.C.campbell, who was replaced by Hector Mac Donald, who was replaced 6 months later by W. Tawse a gentleman of the first order, who sadly crossed the bar a number of years ago in Aus. on board ship so I am told. I chucked Diamond D at the end of my apprenticeship to go ashore, it did not work out so like many more came back to sea . You should remember 3/officer WER Wingate, 2nd officer J.W.Johnstone, C/O Ian Haldane, Chief Eng. R.Menzies 2nd eng. D.Hogg. I was Jnr App. Alistair Kernachan Senior was Davie Livingstone later to be owner of Clyde marine recuterment.must go now will send you a pm swith my e=mail and we can talk some more,
Argyll

hi alistair yes when you gave your name I remembered you.

also the 1st app.

I mind the cuba visit when we had cuba libra drinks and kids sitting with guns.

We had to stay in that old hotel while the ship was fumigated.

Nice of you to reply two kids eh I made the same mistake and they made another 6!

Settled in Australia around 1964 and did the ANL & BHP coastal runs for 2 years.

to think that I nearly got a job with GCHQ when I was up at Australia House or AWA in London.

Shows how dumb I was. Now how is the UK now I miss it. Not much chance of getting back now.

Aussie dollar well you get 2.5 to the new pound.

My Mum & Dad passed on long ago my Sister had rectal cancer a few years back it got her too.

My Brother is living in Nova Scotia after a good RN career.

Hope you and yours our well. Looking forward to your email I left a PM for you.

Hello David seems you are well up in the world. Miss the UK out here in Aust.

Got a bit of a surprise when I googled Broompark.

Saw her again later after we left she docked in Newcastle NSW and went aboard.

Did not seem much changed after a couple of years had passed.

How are you and living back in Scotland?

I mind your tale of Aggie.

Best wishes
