Hello George,
I am not sure if this is the same ship
There was a tanker Brazene that was renamed from Luculus.
Luculus Built 1929 tanker 6546gt Lucigen SS Co LTD (Moss HE & Co Managers)
There is a photo for sale at the South African Museum and also the NMM at Greenwich. I know she was still around late forties as Luculus.
Hope its not a bum steer.

Hi George GM. If any interest to you there are two references relating to the MV Luculus captained by Capt. W Luckey in the book "Convoy" The battle for Convoys SC122 and HX229. The book was written by Martin Middlebrook first published in 1976 by Allen Lane,Penguin Books Ltd,London. I very much doubt if the book is still in print but if you wish I could forward copies of the relevant pagesby email if required.

Hello I think this is your tanker,the funnel markings look right for your LUCULUS ( H.E. MOSS) ;

Also here is a line drawing of LUCULUS from Merchant Ships 1949.
Best Wishes.
