ruud has just told me that the ADDA and APAPA were Elder Dempster ships. My father was a musician on these ships between the wars. Ruud has kindly provided postcard pictures of both ships, together with some history. Is anybody out there sitting on any pictures of public rooms etc?
Thanks
Mike

MV Accra This vessel had 2 diesels 4 cyl; 2s csa built by Vickers Armstrong at Barrow who also built the ship. Did VA build these diesels under licence from one of the well known diesel companies, eg B&W, Sulzer,Doxford as I have not heard of a VA diesel.

Accra and Apapa had 2 x 4cyl Doxfords built by Vickers.
Aureol was built by Alexander Stephens and had similar engines also by the builder.

For Michael Ormian, I have some photos of public rooms which I will scan over the next couple of days.
