I am looking for some help on a Cunard vessel. I am sure one of my learned friends out there will have the answer. I have had to put the photograph in My Gallery as the file is too big to attach. The only info I have is that the vessel was built in 1947 and was 8728 tons.

Judging by the pic., the year and the tonnage I suspect she is the Asia.
Two Brocklebank orders, from the Matra class, were taken by Cunard in 1947 and 1948.
The other was Arabia.
Funny, but this question cropped up in another arena only last week

They are the two for 1947
Arabia 1947 8720gt 16 kts steam turbine.
Asia 1947 8723gt 16 kts steam turbine.

Thanks to both of you for that. Will do a little more digging with those names.

Couple of things regarding the ships.
Arabia sold in 1963 to Panamanian interests and was renamed Onshun which was under Liberian flag. Seems odd to be Liberian flag when sold to Panamanian interests.
Asia sold 1963 to Taiwan and renamed Shirley.
