Built in 1949 John Brown & Co 11,272 tw scr 2 stroke sgl acting Doxford 2 x 6 cyls. Stated speed was 17knts, but more like 16! Sister ships Norfolk, Hauraki, Huntingdon, Cumberland & Hertford. Sussex was scrapped in 1976.
