MAIB Safety Bulletin 1/2006 (vide http://www.maib.gov.uk) covers the recent fire on this cruise ship and makes most interesting and disturbing reading.
Not many of us, I would suggest, have considered the balconies now so common on cruise ships to be a very substantial risk to the safety of these vessels. Big problems ahead for naval architects!
