TAIHE and PUHE

These were two large container ships for China Ocean Shipping Co completed at the Govan shipyard in Glasgow in 1989/1990.They are seen here in the fitting out basin,PUHE on the left.

A couple of shots of TAIHE/s launch at Govan in January 1989 and at Erskine Bridge the following September outbound for trials passing BALMORAL bound for Glasgow.

Sister PUHE was launched at 0530 hours on June 9th 1989 to accommodate tides.These two shots from early bird Mike Campbell recorded the event.
