Mediterranean Shipping Cruises (msc) RHAPSODY sailing from the London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury on the 19th May 2006.
Built in 1977 as CUNARD PRINCESS, she became RHAPSODY during 1995.

She's still looking good for an old lady! I had many a good time aboard her , in her former life as Cunard Princess, in the late 80's as Assistant & Crew Purser. Brings back good memories.

Drydocked her four times.
Once in Curacao, twice in San Juan, Puerto Rico and once in Los Angeles.
All four drydock periods were pretty grim. The last drydock I did in San Juan, it took about four days to empty the dock. We engineers were walking around the dock bottom in about 3 feet of water. Cunard drydock periods were never much fun. BUT, when she sailed, she was like a yacht and the staff onboard were terrific people.....

Very likely Brett. MSC have moved up market and Rhapsody does not cut the mustard these days.

News courtesy Ports & Ships www.ports.co.za
Some important breaking news follows confirmation of the sale of the MSC cruise ship RHAPSODY, which we first reported in our daily News Bulletin of 27 October. It appears that Rhapsody is going to Israeli interests at the end of her current South African cruise season next April.

In her place PORTS & SHIPS can reveal that MSC SINFONIA (58,714-gt) will be the new kid on the block next summer. The 58,715-gt Sinfonia, built a mere six years ago, will arrive in Durban in either November or early December 2009 to take on what has become a well-established tradition of summer cruises along the South African and Mozambique coasts.

Reports in today's papers of the Ventura cruise to the Caribbean make interesting reading. Apparently there were very low last minute fares which attracted some characters who caused havoc - fights, drunks and so forth.
I'm not suprised.
