GEESTCREST and GEESTTIDE

These were two smart reefers built for Geest Line by Scotts' at Greenock in 1971.
GEESTCREST is shown fitting out with,in the background the frigate for the Ghana Navy which eventually became HMS MERMAID.
The other shot shows GEESTTIDE sailing on her maiden voyage from Greenock.Both are now scrapped.

Geest line replaced this two reefers with two similars (with all cranes and the characteristics twin funnels)-GEESTPORT and GEESTBAY, Smith s. Dock S.Bk.in 1981-82 .now they are still in service under the same Greek company :
Target Marine -GEESTPORT is AMFITRITE - GEESTBAY is NAFSICA.
