Clive,
"Fernmoor" was a standard Doxford 'Economy' motorship delivered January 1936 to Lord Runciman Shipping Co., 4972 grt. On 19 September 1948 was disabled in the Pacific and towed 2500 miles to Auckland by "Palana". 5 February 1954 en route Kossier to Japan struck a reef off SW coast of Palawan, was abandoned and sank the following day.

Dave.
Thanks for detail on Fernmoor, looks like its the one I am looking for. My father had served on this vessel as a deckboy back in 1938. There appeared to be more than 1 Fernmoor around in that period.

Hugh.
