Hello All,

I am doing research on the RMS Franconia 1
(1911 -1916) and need some assistance.

I am trying to find the first name of
Lady Forwood who launched the Franconia
on Saturday 23rd July, 1910.

Thanks to all

Hello ..
Just checked, William Forwood was Lord Forwood in 1907,
the man who was the driving force behing a maritime museum,
quite a large figure in Liverpool life and times ...
So it looks more like him, as he married
Dame Elizabeth Constance Hughes Le FLEMING (daughter of General Le FLEMING JP DL )
on 12 Apr 1898 in the British Consulate Paris Ile-de-France France.
Elizabeth was born about 1862.
She died on 05 Jun 1933 in Dedham Essex England.
Best Wishes, Raymond

Hello Raymond,

Thanks once again for answering
to my post.

What I am really after now is
some official reference that
Sir William Bower Forwood was
acually a Director of Cunard
when the RMS Franconia 1
was launched on Saturday -
23rd July, 1910.

Thanks once again,

Best Regards,

Vincent Borg.

Hello Vincent,
I have just had a look at Access to Archives "A2A"
with the following search and there are a considerable
number of documents lodged ....
http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/doclist.asp?nb=0&nbKey=1&com=1&keyword=cunard&properties=0601

You could also try
National Museums Liverpool, Maritime Archives and Library
Merseyside Maritime Musem, Albert Dock
Liverpool
L3 4AQ
England
Website: http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/maritime/
I believe they have many records there of Cunard.

Best Wishes, Raymond
