Kai Maru

NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha?) ships were fairly regular visitors to Glasgow in the 70s on the run up to containerisation taking Scotch whisky to Japan.
This is KAI MARU loading at Meadowside General Cargo berth.Alongside is the floating crane NEWSHOT.
I also seem to remember there was also a KII MARU which caused a little confusion!

Yes you are rigth ,There was about 10 similars Hitachi build from 1965 to 67.
the four sister were KAGA -KAI-KAWACHI and KII MARU. If i remember well ,all were scrapped in the middle 80s.
