Newbury - O/N 186226, LR/IMO 5250337. Launched 3.8.1951 & Completed in December of that year by Lithgows Ltd., Port Glasgow, Yard No. 1060, for Alexander Shipping Co. Ltd., London, Houlder Bros. & Co. Ltd. Managers. (Alexander Shipping had become a wholly owned subsidiary of Houlder Bros. When they acquired complete control in 1947, having initially purchased a significant holding in 1937. The company's ships used Houlder's livery with white masts and derricks from 1947). 16,200 DWT, 11,199 GRT, 530' 3¼" LOA, 68' 2½" Breadth, 29' 9½" Summer Draught. 5cyl 2 S.C.S.A. Doxford type oil engine driving a single screw shaft manufactured by David Rowan & Co Ltd, Glasgow. 5,500 bhp, 12.5 knots service speed. 9C & 14W tanks with a single pump room housing 2 x steam reciprocating cargo pumps, maximum discharge rate 900 t.w./hr. Victor Pyrate portable tank cleaning system, 10" stern discharge. 1963: Sold to Angfartys A/B Alfa, Mariehamm, Finland, (subsidiary of Lundqvist Rederierna). Name unchanged, registered Finland. 20.8.1973 Arrived at Faslane for demolition by Shipbreaking Industries Ltd.
