The steam turbine /electric Ships "BEAVERLAKE" & "BEAVER BRAE" were oil fired with a steam turbine driven generator powering an electric motor driving a single screw. The ships had a displacement over 9000 tons, owned by Canadian Pacific, operating from London UK and the Great Lakes during the 1950's. In the winter they would unload at St John. N.Brunswick.
