Introduction

Court Line used the name Sinnington Court for just one ship. She had a service history of 33 years, which included a distinguished record of service in WW2 convoys. Having lived through the war she was sold to Japanese owners and traded for a further 10 years before sinking during a typhoon.

External resource #2 states that Sinnington Court recued most of the survivors of the Blue Funnel Line ship Pyrrus, which was acting as Vice Commodore if convoy OG18 for Gibraltar when she was torpedoed and sunk on 17 February 1940. The convoy had only two small French warships as escort.


Service post WW2

It is understood that Sinnington Court (then named Fukuzan Maru) sank 60 miles north of Saipan after the hull split during a typhoon but not futher details have been located to date.
