Stop engine... or at least as least down the minimum revs. But keep the rudder hard over..... port to starboard and keep again.... large rudder will slow you down.

A couple of years ago a 2/E crawled into a scavenge space when alone. The door closed and a clip fell over and he could not get out. After the first starting he was gone and was later found.

Painting? I enjoyed painting as a cadet..... the chipping and painting type. Even as mate I enjoyed handling brushes and rollers as well!
