Blast from the past, but remember you well Ken , from the very early days.
I remained on the Clyde for many years after. Mostly as Chief Cook.
Dave Best told me about some of the old hands! Dave Sheriff Tommy Pearce Cliff Preston Lucky Fumis ( deceased) John Meakin ( deceased) Jimmy Fethon.
I came ashore 10 years ago , now working with Children with behaviour problems, had good grounding working with AB'S. Would be interested to know which pathway you took. Clive

Hi billy (Tuesday),
Do remember you from 83,but I think it was 84 because I did not join ship until November 83 and I do remember you and Paula together, how could I forget, you were a great laugh together. Sorry don't know what happened to Andy wright and yes it was sad to hear about lucky, spot on guy. Been Intouch with a couple of guys I.e, dave best, ken Taylor,Clive jones who I think might of been your second cook.. Had some great times on that ship and sadly scraped now, we all got finished in December 2003,so had 20 great years and good pay out.well bunkering down in Southampton now.
Well thanks for getting in touch, so you take care and please say hi to Paula for me, enjoy.
All the best, hounddog (dog).
Bill
Can shed some light on Andy Wright, asked to leave after being caught taking officers beer. Became a bus driver in central London.
I was on the Clyde from the start, until nearly the end, Remember Paula also sailed together with Sugar line. Clive
Hi Clive good to see you are still alive and kicking. Do you remember me Hiram and do you know what became of that character Dave Allen better known as Charlie Bax.
I have managed to link up with a few of the guy's, dotted around the globe now
What have you been doing since ? Seems a lifetime ago.
Last I heard of Mr Bax, he was back on the ferries, but that was many years ago
Sadly lost a few also, Lucky and John Meekin, we did all moan drifting about in that bloody Beryl field, but we also had some fun times + happy memories.
Hi Clive sorry to here about Lucky and I knew about John years ago if you look at my conversation with Dog you will see what I have been up to. Glad to hear from you again
Hi Billy.
I remember you on the Clyde. Hope your ok.
Joe Durkin left in haste after an incident happened off Scotland, not heard where he went after Mobil though. A few of the lads have linked up on here.
Regards. Clive Jones. ( Chief Cook )
Hi Clive, I left the ship in 1988 (2nd mate) to go back deep sea. I left Mobil in 1995 and have been a Bristol pilot ever since. Great to see all these familiar names again.
Saw Lucky in Barry once, shame he's gone, lovely bloke.
Who could forget that night in Tranmere. Was PJ the 'old man'?
Tony Anderton
I was on the Clyde from Nov 82 until June 83 and had the unfortunate experience of sailing with "Matco Mitchell" as the bosun, him apart, it was a good crowd but not for me.
