With IMR now. Joined for 6 week trip to hand over to French; turned out to be 6 months later !. Capt was guy called Forbes (from Londonderry). Good skipper. Nice ship too.
July 1969 woke up to find the Murex had berthed behind us during the night in Las Palmas. Incredible sight at the time - really good looking vessel - made us look like a tug!
We passed the murex at sea off the canaries, i was on the mv Dorcasia at the time (1975?)
Very impressive she looked, i remember the steward Andy saying to the 1st mate, "it's a good job she isn't a D class boat"
