RNLI Boarding Boat - Possibly ex-St Mary's??
I have just purchased an ex-RNLI boarding boat and am looking for some information about her working life.
She was built in 1982 and is numbered BB - 185. Construction is clinker and LOA approx 18'. I do have a feeling that she may have been the predecessor to the current St Mary's boarding boat on the Isles of Scilly which unusually, is slipway launched. I do know that she has been used as a harbour ferry by the inshore lifeboat centre in Cowes in recent years. Unfortunately, the RNLI themselves have not been helpful in providing me with any details. All suggestions, photos or information would be very welcome. Thanks |
