Re-Boot George and let your computer find the mouse.

Bloody mices!! Bloody Microsoft!! I have a Microsoft Wireless 3500 mouse, just out of warranty and for the past week or so it's driven me crazy, doing all sorts of weird things, like the wheel not working, overtyping previous writing, shooting to the top of the page, then having to bang it on the desk because it's stopped working, although with a new battery and the light on. It's heading for the fish pond soon!
I think it's time for a new one. Any suggestions please, but not Microsoft?!

I had a roller mouse (good for people with arthritis) that did the same thing. I suspected all systems. Once I bought a new one, all weird problems disappeared.

Have had a Microsoft wireless mouse 5000, and wireless comfort keyboard 5000, for years and, apart from renewing the batteries, have never had a problem.

O had an occasion when if I clicked to do something the computer would do something else and sometimes it would do nothing. Thought I might have to format and reprogram. then i heard from a friend some advice. "Buy a new mouse"I did and all my problems ceased.
