My hotmail account has been hacked and is now blocked by hotmail.
I am having great difficulty getting things sorted out with hotmail right now. To those of you who normally receive e mails from me I will be in touch min time providing i have not lost my contacts list.

Hotmail states it has sent a reactivation code to my Yahoo address but nothings come through on there yet and that was several hours ago. I give up.

try checking in your Spam Folder for the email

Had same problem a couple of days ago,sent code to other email address now A1.

Hotmail says its sent it but nothing on yahoo address. Tried to open a Gmail account but all i get is "Error 404. page not found"
Stuck with the old yahoo address now (hate yahoo) Very annoyed about the huge contact list i have lost on Hotmail.
Guess this is what happens with a wireless connection.

You don't have to have wireless to have your Hotmail account hacked, it is the least secure service out there. Persevere to obtain a Gmail account then once Hotmail gets you back up transfer your contatcs list and never go back to Hotmail.

I got everything back up and running again now. I even managed to get a gmail account. just got to figure out how to transfer my contact list to it.

I haven't used Gmail for a while but I think there is a way to tell it to import your contacts from Hotmail. Try the drop down menus at "File".

Bill, I am glad to see that you have your contacts list back. It looks like you had the same problem that I had, I got my account back after about 12 hours.

Icant send my address book from hotmail to gmail as there is no SEND button appearing on the appropriate page.
I cant import using g mail as it just sends me round in a circle....Strange things happening on the internet. Dont know whether to blame it on water tight doors or global warming...LOL

I got my 1st dodgy hotmail email from somebody on here. I'm sure they had no idea about it. It was disguised as a request to check some pictures they had posted to see if they worked.
Bang, my email addresses were stolen. When I realised this, I emailed all my contacts and warned them.
This happened over 6 months ago, but recently 3 or 4 contacts have had the same thing happening to them.

Bin Hotmail ASAP ! And ignore any unusual emails from it.

BTW the expected assault on Macs is happening. The advice is to have the latest Java updates.
