Hello all
I lived in Indonesia 1961-65 in an oil port in Sumatra. A lot of odd vessels showed up as there were was no regular shipping other than company owned tankers and one ship monthly from Singapore.
I'm going through my Dad's old slides and would love to be able to identify some of these ships, even if only by type rather than name.
This one showed up off the southern coast of East Java in 1965. A charter all the way from Texas, and it landed( swam ashore ) dairy cattle for a chain of hotels then being built. There was no fresh milk or butter in the country at the time. The cattle were under the awnings you see on the decks.
Name: Carina Registration: Panama(of course!)
Thanks!
