An oddity for a tanker company
Not what you would expect to find in a tanker owner's fleet
Wooden hulled, twin screw refrigerated fish carrier for operation between Abadan and Muscat. KUSA (1950 - 1952) O.N. 184263. 92g. 26n 76.9 x 18.3 x 9.0 feet. Two, 8-cyl. 4 S.C.S.A. (5½"x 7¾") oil engines manufactured by L. Gardner & Sons Ltd., Manchester. 8.1950: Completed by J. A. Silver Ltd., Roseneath, Dumbarton, for the British Tanker Company Ltd. 2.9.1950: Departed Clyde bound in tow to Abadan. 1952: Seized by the Persian Authorities. No further details located.
