Bowring Steamship Company - Crew
Hello there!
This is my first Post, so I hope I'm sticking to the site etiquette!! My problem: My grandfather worked for Bowrings between 1900 and WW2 as an Engineer, rising to Chief Engineer and responsible for commissioning vessels. I wasn't old enough to talk to him before he died in 1951. I am hoping that someone out there can help a frustrated descendant to trace any ships he may have worked on or travelled in. The details are: Alexander (Alec) Haxton, born 1877, lived in New Cross, London, England. I presume he worked to the Far East as we have oriental pieces passed down from his voyages. Any help from anyone out there is greatly appreciated by this Newby!!!
