Hello I am fairly new on here.

I was onboard the Cast otter from 1983 to 1986 serving as AB.

Bob Cotter was captain and Wilfe Scott was the bosun.

Is there anyone around who was on the ship during the same period.

It would be good to hear from anyone.

I am still at sea today with Subsea7 on a pipelay vessel.

Never actually sailed on her but I was the Port captain in Antwerp at the
time. Bob was my cousin ( 2nd.removed ) Walter would be the cheng and
Dick Hyushe the mate.
Were you on board when we loaded that $4 M motor yacht in Antwerp ?.

Yes John I recognise your name I think I saw you onboard once or twice.

You are spot on Walter was Ch/eng and Dick was the mate.

I remember the expensive yacht, we got a small payment for cleaning the hull on the way across the atlantic.

Peter Galbraith (Pedro) was also another of the AB's there, I recently met him after many years. Barra John was his brother who was also good friends with Bob Cotter. Barra John sailed on the Husky at the same time.

Hi John i think i was on the otter with u.I was on between 28/6/86 to 9/9/86.If my memory serves me right,capt cotter gave us thirty cases of beer when we were told we were getting replaced with polish crew.Remember wilf scott as bosun.Rgds pat o connell

Hi All, I was mate on the 'Otter' with Bob Cotter and sailed on her right up until she was handed over in Antwerp. Chief was Harry'Green Decks'.
Given time 'll remember some of the others.

I'm still sailing on container boats with Alpha Ship of Bremen and probably my last contract before I pull the plug.

Hi John,

I was Mate on the 'Otter' when the crew was changed and the Brits were sent home, a sad day. If I remember Decaln Brookes was 2/E.

I'm still sailing but with a German container company although getting ready to retire next year.

Hi John. I remember you from the Otter,Polish crew took over on arrival in Antwerp. 1year later visited the Otter in antwerp,Bob was the old man, but alas German Officers were taking over.
Good ship good Crew form top to bottom.Had a brief mess fron John Finley but that was a few years ago.

Hi welbray27. Not that Im aware, I think those ships were crewed under other nationals,but correct me if Im wrong.

Gentlemen , cast Beaver was one of the first Cast generation ships . cant
remember who she was crewed by , it's too long ago.

cast polarbear ( together with the Caribou ) had all Croatian officers and crew.
