Same old story 6 week trip to Curacao and 54 weeks later get paid off in
Singapore. How many like myself fell for that one.

I fell for it . 1956 Same ship same story, Round trip to Curacao. Didn't mention it was round the rest of the world for ten month. Good trip though. Cheers, Albi.

I joined the Hinea in Singapore, as R/O, March 1974 for a 4 month trip. Eventually left in November 74 after my relief had been cancelled 3 times.

Same story on the HADRA in 1956 .Round trip to Gulf. Finished up 12 months later in Tyneside.

Days of long ago and so many that came before and those that went after.
Only ever met up with one of the crew ,That was the Bosun in Curacao.Have only met one former shipmate from NZSCo on this site. Every one seems to have passed on or do not have a computer.
