the institution has fitted twin 1500hp MTU engines to a severn, which is trialing round the coast at the moment,had the pleasure to get a shot if her and it is very impressive,from 5 knots to 26 knots timed is 17 seconds on average the rest of the fleet takes 52 seconds according to the stats, with a fuel saving of 15% over the cats fitted,biggest noticeable difference is the noise level and lack of vibration which the cats have,sitting at tick over they were like a couple of old gardeners . davie

going by the feedback, it wont be long until the severns will be getting them at the major refit,the boat is going down the west of ireland, then back up the west coast of scotland to orkney & shetland, then down the east side back to poole for the final evaluation but going by reports i think their minds are already made up. davie

sorry billywinkle ,nothing wrong with gardners at all, just a comment about how quite these engines are compared to the cats thats in the severn`s. davie
