Cool Midshipcentury

For those of us who loved the older ships that are no longer with us, Peter Knego - who also does some incredible blogs for Maritime Matters - has his own relaiming business called MidShipCentury.

He makes regular visits to the breaker beaches of Alang and Chittagong to rescue some of the interiors of passenger ships that end their days at the hands of the breakers there.

He has a fascinating website with loads of beautiful items from the ships so many of us have fond memories of...

He also has updated photo's of the latest arrivals to the beaches and those which are in the process of being broken too. Even if you are not a collector of memorabilia, the site is absolutely fascinating to browse through and see the amazing artifacts from ships gone by...from ornate glass doors to saloon chairs & Union Castle blankets...
