Mt Washington Cruise Ship's Engines To Go Green

WEIRS BEACH, N.H. (AP) ― When it's done taking passengers around Lake Winnipesaukee for the season, the M/S Mount Washington cruise ship will be getting new, environmentally friendly engines.

The current engines that power the ship burn 33 gallons of fuel per hour. After October, when it's done for the year, the M/S Mount Washington will receive new diesel engines that will reduce nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide and particle pollution emissions. The boat also will be refurbished.

I sailed on MOUNT WASHINGTON last September, she was very impressive. The scenery on the lake was fantastic
