Does anyone remember FSB01?
I was sent to standby on her for about 10 days. I think it was probably in 1979 and at Southampton but I'm not sure. So, who can remember when she was with Cayzers and where? Don't suppose anyone has any photos of her at this time?

30.8.1974: Arrived at Rotterdam to be converted into a floating supply base.
2.1975: Work completed. Renamed F.S.B.01.
1977: Sold to Tarawa N.V., Panama.
1978: Chartered by The Scottish Tanker Company Ltd., (Cayzer, Irvine & Co.Ltd, managers), for three years.
1979: Converted for service as a depot ship and pipe-carrier and employed at offshore installations. Renamed ZEUS 1. Golden Union Shipping Company SA, appointed as managers.
1982: Sold to Paean Compania Naviera S.A., Panama.
1984: Converted for service as a cement carrier and employed as a storage vessel at Safaga.
1995: Sold to Aetna Maritime Inc, (Steering Shipping Company Ltd, managers), Panama.
2000: Renamed EL NAGAR under Belize registry for passage to shipbreakers.

Further to previous entries, The B & C Clansman magazine No 44; April 1977 has a poor photo and the text:- In January it was announced that B & C had taken over responsibility for the floating supply base vessel FSB01 from Pakhoed Holding N. V. previously B & C held a 45 per cent interest in the vessel. FSB01 is a 31,000 dwt bulk carrier, specially designed for the storage at sea of several thousand tons of steel piped used in the laying of underwater pipelines to bring oil ashore. Originally previously chartered to Shell in the North Sea, the vessel is temporarily laid-up at southampton awaiting new employment.

It is the only reference I can find in the B & C magazines I have.

Scottish Tanker Company Ltd, accounts for the period 1979 - 1981 record the chartering since 1978 of F.S.B.01 for a period of three years at $3,600,000 per annum. Her name later was changed to ZEUS 1
