Any of our Denholm brethern remember Dan Sweeny, Chief Sterward.

Sailed with him a number of times - great chap.

I sailed with Dan once but I cannot remember which ship. As you say John he was a nice guy well thought of by all

sailed with him on warwick fort if i remember he took over from john mulgrew he was a good guy kev.

I think I met Dan in Lisbon in 1980, he was storing the two Coastal ships.

Sailed with Dan on my first trip to sea on the Crinan 1965, he was chief cook and I was peggy for the first week. Next sailed with him as chief steward when I joined the Cast Petrel as master in 1981. He said it made him feel old to have sailed with me as peggy, and the next time as f****** old man, as he put it !
