Shabab Oman

Built as the Captain Scott in 1971 and operated by the Dulverton Trust - builders Heard & Mackenzie.

Sold to the Sulternate of Oman in the laste 70's and renamed Shabab Oman - I was part of the delivery crew, sailing her from Buckie in Scotland to Muscat in Oman.

I believe that she is the only sail training ship run by an arab nation and has enjoyed a very sucessful life.

She is pictured here in teh Red Sea on her delivery voyage.

Would like to hear from any of that delivery crew or anyone that has sailed on her lately
