Any B&C ships still existing?

I found the MV King Alfred under a Chinese name but that's about all.

Possibly the reefer vessel Crystal Orchid which served in the B&C fleet, as Edinburgh Universal, around 1980/81. Built 1979 as Polar Honduras.

Only true B&C ship still in Service is the Scottish Eagle built 1979
She was built for King Line but was given a Scottish Tanker name.

Crystal Orchid was scrapped last year, did a trip on her 1982/3, excellent trip. King Alfred must have been scrapped by now.....built in Sweden 1968, did my first trip on her. Did a trip on the Scottish Lion to, I think she must have been scrapped as well.

My first deep sea trip was on the Alfred, and I was on the Eagle when she was sold in 1986. Didn't realise she was still going though.

There is one ex Union Castle ship still afloat and earning a living.
Another is on permanent exhibition display.
What ships are they?
Get them both and win a major prize !

I can think of two ships, but they weren't 'proper' B&C ships, merely being chartered, however both still exist.

Victoria (ex Sea Princess, ex Kunghsholm) - chartered from P&O Cruises by UC for a round voyage to South Africa to mark the UC centenary in 2000. She's now an accommodation ship in Oman.

Andalucia Star - chartered from Blue Star by B&C for the SA mail run in the late 70s and now converted to an orange tanker and known as 'Orange Star'.

Orange Star was scrapped, in India, in 2010.

Both were in service about 90 years ago.
Neither of them had the name "Castle".
Both were at some time used for the same purpose.
One is now in Europe the other is in Africa.

They can both be found on my web site:

Hi Chris,
Nice website! It is obvious that you have put a lot of work into it.
However, I was unable to find the two vessels. Could one be the ? City sailing vessel up in Glasgow?
Rgds.
