Zante
Look at a picture of Zante and you will see the wreck in smugglers cove.
Local rumour runs two ways 1. she was smuggling cigarettes and ran aground (in a bay???) 2. Was bought by the ministry of tourism and beached here. I suspect version 2 I have no idea what the identity of this ship is but the deck machinery was Clyde built. Has anyone any information on this wreck? |

The first story is absolutely correct. She was the Greek owned Panagiotis when the incident occured, but was a former British-built J. & A. Gardner vessel. I don't remember which one though.
