RIO Ships.
Hi,
Just purchased a number of shipping photos,all the ships begining with the word RIO. any idea what company these would be from.would they all belong to one company. Cheers.

There are currently 171 ships in service with the name prefix "Rio", all under various ownership and operation.
What types of ship are they? Are they recent or old vessels? This info might help to provide a better answer. Phil

RIO Ships.
Hi,
They date from the 1930s to the 1970s.all cargo ships.Have Anchor sign on funnel.maybe Lloyd Bros. not certain. cheers.

That sounds like Empresa Lineas Maritimas Argentinas S.A. (ELMA). The company is no longer around, but they did have a lot of ships with the name prefix "Rio".
