Hi All, My great grandfather, James Lawrence Trainer, sailed as engineer on the SS Benito. I am looking for any pictures or info on the SS Benito, built by David Dunlop & Co Port Glasgow, 1884, and Wrecked at Lagos 1894.
Benito completed 04.1884 for British & African S.N.Co.Ltd., Registerd Glasgow. ON: 89912. GRT: 712 NRT: 424 L: 210.90ft B: 28.20ft. Builders; David J Dunlop & Co, Glasgow. Y/N: 172. Engine: 1 x 2-cyl compound steam engine of 90 hp.
01.07.1894 Sank after touching Lagos Bar, Nigeria.
