“SS Stonepool” Official No 139259
I presume that you have seen the attached link giving Uboot account of the sinking, only 7 survivors
http://uboat.net/allies/merchants/ship.html?shipID=1103

Billy Magee has / is writting a book on the Ropner & Pool shipping Co and will be able to give you all those that were lost when she was sunk, he may have a list of those that were saved, see http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/showthread.php?t=4280

If you were to obtain the last crew agreements and log for 1941, BT 381/1337 from the TNA and obtain the list of those lost from Billy you should be able to determine those that were survivors

My Granddad, Joseph Nicholson had been sunk twice before the Stonepool. I remember seeing a photograph that my Granny had of him meeting the Queen, with all the other crew members in uniform and him in an overcoat. He hadn't been able to get a new uniform as it went down with his last ship. I will have to find that photo when I am next home and see if the ship can be identified.
