Hello Ivor and welcome. Search through the forum and you should pick up threads on Everards. There are a lot of names mentioned in there and you may recall some.

Hello !! I'm on this site doing some research for my old mate Dave Hurd (Hurdy) from Exmouth. He gives me a list of ships names from his discharge book and I attempt to find the photo to match.I've got every one of Freds so far including a dodgy colour job of the Conformity with masts down. When I see Dave next week,I'll mention you and The Brown Bear. Regards Pete.

Sailed Sugar Line 1972 to 1978. Exporter, Refiner, Transporter, Carrier, Diamond.

Hi hope I am doing this right cos I am still new to computers , I was on sugar transporter from 1970 to 1971 , done the maiden voyage from Greenock to Houston , Texas , second trip to Canada. India , Mauritius ( wow , what a place that was ) then to Capetown , then home , after that done three more trips to Trinidad before paying off , done about nine months befor going on leave . I really loved that ship , I understand it sank in 1991 , brings tears to my eyes !

Best wishes Barry Fuller ex seaman and asst steward .

Hi, I sailed on the Sugar Transporter as a 10 year old in 1977 for 3 months.

I contacted the owners of the ship in Greece when it sank and was given alot of photos of her sitting in shallow water of Socotra. Father was Jimmy Kelly and was Chief Engineer. I have a lot of memories sailing to Jamaica, Barbados, Canada. Would love to hear from anyone who knew Jimmy or sailed when I was on the ship.
