This is David Gillmon saying a few words to introduce myself.
I joined the MN in 1956 and spent the next ten years on the Furness Withy cruise liner the Q.T.E.V Queen of Bermuda. Furness Withy pulled out of the New York Bermuda trade in 1966 and the QoB was brought back to Faslane to be scrapped. Being a Marconi employed R/O I was then appointed to P&O.
I remained with P&O from 1966 to 1983 serving in Oronsay and Oriana.
In 1983 I moved to passenger ferries out of Dover,Portsmouth,Poole and Weymouth. I remained with these channel ferries until 1996 and then moved to P&O Irish Sea ferries, where I remained until retiring in 2002.

Welcome David
I was a Deck Apprentice on QoB from August through November 1960.
My family was in New Jersey and I transferred from the Ocean Monarch while she went back to UK for annual refit. I do recall an R/O with an electric guitar working very hard on the Ventures hit 'Walk, don't run' was that you ??
