Hello.
My name is Alan Coy and I started my working life as an Engineer Cadet with Alfred Holt in 1962. After 'swallowing the anchor' I spent 17 years in the UK National Health Service as an 'Estates Officer' in various guises. Spent my last 20 years in UK Universities doing similar work before retiring and moving to France, where I now live.
Ships I sailed on were 'Atreus', 'Glenlyon', 'Flintshire', 'Phyrus' (first trip out of Birkenhead after it's fire and refit), and 'Automedon'. 1962-64 were spent at Riversdale College, Liverpool and most of this time I was residential in 'Aulis'.
I have seen Derek Roger's thread on the subject of 'Aulis' and as a result decided to make my first 'post' in the hope of making contact with old shipmates (greetings Derek!).
Best regards to all.
Alan

Alan, from Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia.
Chances are you'll hear from old shipmates and find new ones too.
Make yourself at home and enjoy all that we have to offer.
