Lo All

Just stumbled in here while looking for a pictures of the Furness Bridge which is the ship my father worked on at Haverton Hill. He later travelled up to greenock to work on it up there also.

My interest for it came when i came across an old slide that I think is the furness bridge at its launch in Haverton Hill.

hello rage...........

welcome to s.n...................

i once delivered a training course at haverton hill, and asked one of the local lads......what is that "wedge shape" piece of waste land sitting in the middle of nowhere?

he said........." that was the slipway".

says it all really........:(

The slipways have been dug out again for some reason I had heard that a firm had won a contract to build again but I am not sure this to be true as all that has happened is the slip ways have been exposed and thats it.

From Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia, Rage.
It's good to have you onboard and we hope you enjoy our site.
Chances are you have found a picture of the "Furness Bridge" but, if not, here's a decent one on the web:
