:( :( ronky 150, Joined a few weeks ago. Worked in local fish sheds in fife as a youngster before going to see in 1968 prawn trawling off Shields in the Pittenweem 50footer Sedulous. Graduated to the bigger fife boats working from Aberdeen, sat for ticket and got the chance to own and skipper a new 77foot boat being built at Campbeltown. Mairead KY 150 was launched in 1980 and we worked from Aberdeen mainly seine netting but turning to pair trawling when necessary. Like many other owners we decommissioned in 2002 when the economics of fishing was making it harder for the crews to get a decent wage for the effort they put in. I now have a small mobile fish business which keeps me in touch with the industry, and this will do until retirement, not too many years away. Not as good as being at sea though. ronnie hughes.

Welcome to the crew, Ronnie.
As you've probably found there are plenty of fisherfolk on board.
You will have found your way around by now so enjoy the rest of the trip.
