Hi there

Hi I am tracing my family history and have found that my great grandfather William Moore was a fisherman and subsequently owned fishing smacks out of Lowestoft in 1860is to 1904 or later

The first boat we know he owned was called Irene perhaps named after my grandmother (her middle name) and subsequently Star of the East in partnership with George Leabon. The latter boat tragically was sunk when rammed by a steamer in 1904 off |Plymouth with the loss of two crew

I have photos of both smacks

Now also believe that a smack called Prolific might figure in my family's past

Any help in tracing these boats and their owners much appreciated
