Hi all, just joined and have no real connection with the sea beyond spending my formative years in the Western Isles and living on a diet of the REAL McBraynes ships. My brother put me on to this site a while ago and I can`t resist any longer! Looking forward to a good voyage! Cheers, John.

Being originally from the Western Isles there should be plenty to
interest you on this site.

Welcome aboard, John.
You only need an interest in the sea to sign on this ship.
Beware, being a member of the crew can be addictive.
Enjoy the voyage.

From Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia, John.
Don't fight it--SN may become addictive, but it's a nice place to anchor.

Nice to meet you john, if you like the sea you are in the right place, just reading the words about the heiland ships brought back memories of when I was relieving on the Irish boats whilst my ship was in dry dock. We used to sit in a pub within sight of the ship and when they had all the passengers and were ready to sail a wee flag was waved and we all ran to the ship which then sailed,
