Hi all!

Mikel Blasco

My name is Mikel Blasco and I'm in this site because I have started to gather information about my father's career in VLCC and others.
His name was Miguel Angel Blasco ( Miguel A. Blasco) and he served as Chief Engineer mainly in Grand Bassa Tankers.
The first ships I remember when I was a litle child are:
In the 60's:
- Quetara
- Harmony
- Walley Forge
- Liberty Bell
- others (I am not sure)

Later in early 70's:

- Grand Alliance
- Grand Brilliance
- Grand Concordance

in two of these last three he was in the launching in Nagasaki after 6 months in the shipyard.

I would like to know of colleagues and mates who served with him.

I have also pictures of some of these vessels that I would like to share with you.

Just to finish mention that I also studied Nautical Sciences (engineering section) but I didn't sail the seas 8-( (I work as Software Engineer in NCR Corp in Spain)

My best regards to all colleagues and seamen.

From Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia, Mikel.
Good to have you onboard and thanks for that fine introduction.
I hope you'll be hearing from some old shipmates of your father before long.

Welcome aboard Mike, from Melbourne Australia, it is a great site, I am sure some of the crew will be able to answer your many questions about your Dad's service in the Merchant Navy. Regards, Terence Williams.

Welcome aboard from northern England, Mikel.
Let's hope that someone in the crew recognises your father's name and can help.
Meanwhile find your way around the ship and enjoy the voyage.
