Does anyone have information on any of the deck apprentices who sailed on
the "gloxinia" of Stag Line between 1965 and 1968. The old man was Shaw
and the mate was Sutherland .I think the 2nd mate was called Earnie lamb.
I was reading a note from Tom Harrison relating to a voyage from Immingham
to the Great Lakes on Gloxinia.I was on that trip.Other apprentices were
John(jock)Chalmers and Peter Rowlands (last seen at South Shields colledge
in 1968)

Greetings Kudu.
I was apprentice from 1970, sailed on the Gloxinia as apprentice, 3rd Mate and 2nd Mate. The old man would be Jas Shaw, the mate Bill Sutherland, I sailed with him when he was old man, a perfect gentleman sadly passed on. Eddie Lamb not Ernie, he was mate when I sailed with him on the Photinia. Sorry I dont know any names of apprentices from your time with stag line but I am sure someone will help you.

Regards Peter
