Hi folks, I just found this site while looking for a photo of the BP British Queen
on which I did a couple of trips in 1961/2. My merchant navy days were pretty short lived but maybe that was for the better, (who knows?). Can anybody get a photo to me and perhaps any info about the tanker. She was the flagship of the fleet at the time and considered rather large at 50,000 tons! A bit of a joke nowadays I imagine. Thanks

Plenty of BP lads in the crew to get to know.
Explore the ship, join in and enjoy the trip.

Ian, from Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia.
Good to have you onboard.
Marconi Sahib is slipping--it's taken him all of 5 minutes to come up with the answer.
As he says, lots of ex BP men here and you may run into old shipmates before long.

Ian,

A warm welcome to SN from the Isle of Anglesey.
There is every chance that you will meet old shipmates on this site so, have a good look round and join in the banter as much as possible.
Beware, it is addictive! (Thumb)

Thanks for all the responses to my letter. Have used Marconi Sahib's links and found some good stuff. Just out of interest I was also on the SS Ceuta for one trip. Anybody ever heard of it? Bit of a rust bucket and hardly a sober officer on board! Cheers. Ian H
