Hi Typhoon.
If you do not already have it, I suggest you get a copy of "The Royal Navy in the Cod Wars"by Andrew Welch, publishers Maritime Books.
I am doing research on my RFA service in the "Cod Wars"and this book has been invaluable. Wish you all success.

I think if you dig deep enough you will find that many more of United Towing's large tugs were involved at one time or another.

Without digging into my records too much the following are the known vessels but I think that there were one or two others but not 100% sure at present.

Ken,

Perhaps you may be able to clarify.

I have notes somewhere that suggest that the SUPERMAN, SEAMAN or YORKSHIREMAN were in someway involved but I'm not sure.

Hi Typhoon and welcome.

If you're looking to find out or confirm specific details, I can check for you in The Times Digital Archives. The newspaper reported a lot of the incidents of the cod wars.

Bill,
Just a minor correction to you details of the Star Polaris/Sirius

They both had fixed pitch props with reversable gearboxes which made the manoeuvring interesting.

I was mate on the Polaris in the Cod War, (I still have the Blue Ensign we flew) and the Sirius was my first Command - fond memories.

Glad to hear they are both still afloat
